Whole30 - Day 7

Dear Whole30 diary: today I discovered that pork belly, extra-crispy and loaded with salt, is the best Whole30 substitute for bacon. In Whole Foods today I came face-to-face with the price of sugar-free bacon. Yes, I bought some, but also the most viable alternative in hopes I wouldn’t have to purchase sugar-free bacon again. Success!

Enough bacon-y flavor and crunch to end the bacon craving, for sure. I don’t love pork belly as much as my top choices of bacon: #1 wild boar bacon, and #2 lamb bacon. I may love it 40% as much, which is approximately the percentage its price is of wild boar/lamb bacon’s price. 🤔

Whole30 Day 7 Food

  • Breakfast: hot water with lemon and pink Himalayan salt
  • Lunch: four slices of sugar-free bacon + four pieces of pork belly
  • Snacks: grazing as I prepped, styled, and photographed next week’s post (Chicken Lunch Meal-Prep 4 Ways)
  • Dinner: leftover meat sauce with zoodles made days before
  • Fluid: black coffee, tea, La Croix
